🛡️ New Child Safe Standards at RRAC

Queensland’s new Child Safe Standards apply to all organisations working with children, including Little Athletics clubs. From 1 April 2026, clubs must be actively working towards compliance.

At RRAC, child safety has always been our priority. Little Athletics Queensland (LAQ) has released a Child Safe Statement of Commitment, which applies to all affiliated clubs, including ours.

What this means for RRAC:

• We will publish the Statement of Commitment on our website
• All relevant volunteers must hold a valid Blue Card
• We will continue reviewing practices around complaints, communication, and data management

LAQ is completing system-wide compliance work, including policy updates, risk management improvements, and new training resources—minimising the load on clubs.

These standards emphasise continuous improvement, ensuring we maintain a safe, inclusive environment for all athletes.
